Any ideas what's up with his legs. I put him in a travel cage and he came out with his legs like this. Vet said it was a calcium issue but his crickets are gut loaded and "shake 'n bake". She said he was too small to tell if it was a fracture as well. He's 5.5 inches long and 12 grams. Apparently it should fix itself but I wanted some other opinions.
May I also add he is off the sand now because I joined the forums and got paranoid. He's on the fake-looking astro-turf stuff now.
looks like MBD i have got a female leo that had mbd as a juv and she is fine now but read up on it kk

That's what she said but I was trying so hard to make sure he had enough. Dangit!

yeah, your gecko has MBD. dust it's food like crazy at every feeding. i would keep it on paper towel or newsprint. that astroturf stuff gets dirty easily and is not easy to clean. plus they get their toes stuck on it. i would also put a dish of calcium in it. put it in a petri dish or something and it will probally eat a bit. all my leos have one and use it all the time. make sure you are feeding it enough cause 5.5 inches and 12 grams isn't very much. you might have to help it eat by making the crix more catchable using tweesers. what happens in MBD is the body doesn't get enough calcium, so there isn't enough calcium in the blood so it starts taking it from other parts of the body, like the bones. watch out for jaw deformities, if that does start to happen i would take it back to the vet and put him on a liquid calcium. if the MBD hits their jaw then it can prevent them from eating. good luck and if you have any more questions please feel free to e-mail me at otis07_@hotmail.com. good luck with your little guy!
