Spider I've never seen before

Keywords: Help me identify please Unknown red spider with large fangs

I live in California. Our city is between Malibu and Santa Barbara. I found this spider in my kitchen and I am wondering if anyone can identify it for me. My husband works in construction and is working in Ojai, Ca, I was thinking it may have hitched a ride home with him since there is plenty of trees and plantlife in Ojai. Help me please.

That is a fine specimen of Dysdera, the Woodlouse spider. See those huge jaws? These guys prey on pillbugs, so they need some big chompers. Nice, clear pic. These are really cool, specialized animals.
