Very Nice! Did you use a flexable liner or pre-formed? Filter? What kind of climate is it located in? Did you build the bridge from scratch or is it a kit/pre-made? Is the bridge down sized? What are the dimensions of the pond (appox)? Obviously I'm interested in putting in a pond in my back yard. I've been reading up on them for awhile. Any unforseen problems when constructing yours? Thanks.

It's a preformed liner, around 700 gallons total. The bridge was from a kit. I live in California so while the water might freeze over for a day or two, there are no hard freezes.

I did not build this pond myself, and I'm not quite sure what kind of filter it has, if any. It has a waterfall and also gets "watered" in the summer by my sprinkler system, providing for excellent aeration of the water. Even when I don't run the pump the water stays clear, so I'm not the best person to ask about filters etc as I don't even know if I have one or need one! I'm still learning!

Thanks, Christie! It looks terrific. I'm still in the planning stages myself but it's definitly something I want to try and build. I'll look for kits and keep asking folks who already have the set-ups I like.

I live in Denver where it's very dry with mild winters although it can get brutally cold for a few days a season. Summers are dry with a few days of blistering heat so I already know it will have to be at least 2 1/2 to 3 feet deep to prevent total freezing in winter and maintain cool spots in the summer. I'll probably try native fish first before any other species and I'd love to see if a family of leopard frogs wouldn't mind hanging around since they're native to the area. As much as I like bullfrogs, they're not native to the front range and have gobbled-up the leopard frogs so maybe I can kinda run a little "leopard frog flop house!"
