Mostly it's for water plants (that are all too small to see and underwater), but there's a few Pacific Treefrogs that live in the rocks around it, and I'll probably put a small slider or two in there.

IN NV I think you could go from very hot to cold at night?
You could add mosquito fish (Gambusia) they will thrive keep your pond mosquito free and breed nicely
