I got pete and his cage mate angelica, at a pet store for my birthday. it took us months to find a pet store that had some. pete and angelica are about 9" now.

Nice tiger. You're right, they seem to be harder to come by these days.

beautiful tiger sals. you asked about creating a natural vivarium for your sals. the 150 gal i have is overdoing it a bit, but there are 7 tigers in there. i use a mix of t-rex forest bed, and black jungle's coco bedding and dendro bedding/plantation bedding. i like to give them 5-7 inches of soil to burrow into. under the soil is 2 inches of lava rock for drainage, covered by landcaping fabric to keep the soil an sals out. you can use most types of indoor house plants ava. at greenhouses or garden centers. ferns, pothos, philodrendrons?, silver queen, arum, diffenbachia, etc. are what i mainly use. get some cork bark tubes and flat pieces to make caves to hind in and add some moss for humidity retention. don't forget the uva/uvb buld for the plants and keep the soil moist, but not wet. if you spot clean for feces and dead organics/plants, the tank will last 8-12 months before you will need to think about replacing the soil. remove and replace plants as needed. for your two sals a 40-50 gal breeder would be great, but anything over 29 gals will be fine. feel free to ask more questions. my email is tegu24@yahoo.com if you want more pics of what i have or have more questions. good luck.
