No unfortunately he hasn't, at least not since last Sunday. He is really sweet and has a lot of love to give. He has been at the shelter since he was a kitten, going on almost 2 years. Thanks for posting :)

What a little sweetheart! I'd love to adopt him too....two years in the shelter is two to many for such a endearing fellow. Has he been adopted yet?

Thanks all for inquiring and admiring. He still hasn't been adopted yet. He kind of sleeps in a tunnel all the time, so adopters don't usually get to see him. It is a rare occassion when he is out and about. It is usually because he wanted love and attention. Then he will follow you around the shelter until you pet him. Such a sweet personality. He has a brother with the same looks and personality, both came in as kittens and are still there.

If I didn't live so far away I would definitely adopt them! A lady I work with has family in New Jersey....near the coast I think. I'll tell her about this little sweetie and his brother too :)

Do you have a website for your shelter or an email address if someone sees this handsome guy and wants to adopt him?

There is a web site for the shelter under PetFinder.org

Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc, Oakland , New Jersey.

The only problem is they have a picture up of him and his brother from when they were younger like 6 mons-a year old, the picture is not as good as the one you see here. I gave them access to this picture to download, but they haven't done anything about it, unfortuantely. I am just a volunteer there and I have told them their web site is a bit outdated and they were going to look into it. I hope they do.

Is he the one listed as "Mitch" on the website?

No, he isn't actually Mitch. Although, they could seriously be twins. Mitch is a bit smaller in size compared to George. I just found himand he was under George-Beatle Cat as I figured they would have Beatle Cat listed for him. He is the 22nd cat down from the top. His brother John comes first in the list as the second cat down. I hope this helps. I would paste his personal link, but it is a really long one.

Anyone stepped forward to adopt this handsome boy yet?

Nope him and his brother are still at the shelter. For the 2nd X-Mas in a row :( His brother is getting very vocal now too. He cries for attention when he sees someone. I pet him and give him attention and then he plops on his side so I can rub him.

Hi Zoe,

Thanks for all of your inquiries about the shelter cats. Unfortunately, George and his brother, John, have not been adopted yet. Luckily, they don't have to stay in cages. They have free roam with all the other adult cats in the main cat room. I will post a picture for you to see. They have chairs, couches, blankets, cat beds, tunnels, cat trees, etc... It has really made it less stressful on the cats and they can walk up to people. It's also a no-kill shelter, so they stay there until someone takes them, eventually. A lot of the time volunteers feel bad for them and end up adopting them.

That is really too bad. I run a rescue group for dogs but, have rescued many cats too. I have not had much luck with placing adult cats. Two of my four cats were adults when I adopted them & they are the two "top cats." I rescued a black & white kitten from 5 weeks-1 year of age & I finally decided to keep him. :)

I hope they get adopted soon! They are so cute!
