Highly unlikely that he's a "chocolate phase" desert Cal King. Desert phase morphs are black & white, usually banded, with extra wide white bands. This is likely a coastal phase.

Ameron is right. That is a light phase Coastal California Kingsnake. You can find them pretty light just like that in the wild. I found one just as light in coastal S.D. Co. a couple of years ago. I also found what I believe to be a hypo desert phase Cal king back in 2005. He's a light chocolate brown with white rings. All other kings from that same local have been nearly black.
