Today, Oct. 31st would have been Festus' 10th birthday. You will never be forgotten Festus :)

What a wonderful guy he was!

What a wonderful Memorial in honor of Festus. Bassets are terrific loving dogs.

This is my baby Festus who crossed over 2 weeks prior to his 10th birthday. It has taken me almost 2 months to be able to post. He was my first basset. He was my Christmas puppy when I got him. He brought me comfort, comanionship and huge amounts of love. He has given me many wonderful memories. Because of this I am now volunteering for a Basset Hound Rescue here in Ca. It amazes me but above all saddens me that there is so much animal abuse in the world. Most stories of the dogs we rescue just break your heart. In Festus' honor, I give to other bassets anything I can to help provide new and loving homes. And while these loving dogs await new parents, I go to the rescue kennels and give them love, attention, belly rubs, brushings, snacks, walks, play with them, feed them and bed them down. I sing to them and clown around with them. Please...adopt a rescue dog. They will not only complete your life but will add so much love. Festus...you are forever in my heart. Thank you dear buddy for all the years of devotion and happiness you unconditionally gave to me. Nothing else in this world can ever compare to what you've given me. Please wait for me at the bridge. Thanks to my sister who submitted my Festus for me as my grief kept me from functioning for a while.

To my Buddy Festus...You are forever in my heart. I still shed many tears because I miss you so much. Even though I adopted Mr. Buster J.D. Magoo and am fostering Vito Bandito, I have found you will never be replaced. You are in my thoughts every day. So much a part of my life and you will always be. I love you my Buddy Boy! your dogmom
