Kind of hard to tell... is the snake frozen?? Looks like either a Texas rat snake or a fox snake. Which part of the country are you from?

Yes, I froze it to be able to take pics of it. I don't have photo bucket, so I load up the pics for forum use. Everybody on the rat snake forum said, yes , pantheists obsoletes. I live in central Ky and wasn't sure because we have a lot of racers and am not too wild about keeping them as pets.
