Keywords: Iraq viper
Some of our people found this on the camp and unfortunately killed it. Trying to get a good identification for it. I'm guessing a saw scaled viper, but could use some help on this one. Thanks rwehnau521@aol.com
It is not a scaled viper( Echis carinatus), it is Coluber karelini.

Its a harmless ratsnake.Not a viper. Vipers have strongly keeled scales, triangular head and have a stocky body. Sawscales rub their scales against eachother, creating a rasping sound, when they feel threatened.
