Nile monitor

Description: This is my nile monitor. He is 39 inches and just the sweetest nile I know of, not an ornate nile. I just trimmed his claws the other day and he didn't complain one bit. Niles can become much tamer if you interact with them regurally but of course he didn't start out that calm :) This photo is before I trimmed his claws. He didn't squirm at all, in fact it was harder to trim my ferrets claws :)

I like when the noobs try to explain about their very common reptile. Also I like when they're so excited about their overly common reptile that they explain twice that it didn't eat you during a nail trimming session. Grats! Rating: 5/5

Thanks, lol He remains so calm while I trim his nails, it really is amazing. I have not had any other animal stay that still and I have and have had many animals. I do understand that these guys can be pretty mean but mine isn't. I don't think I am lucky cause this was the meanest of the clutch when I got him. I just have spent alot of tie with him and now hes much nicer than an iguana I had years ago. I really love monitors because of their intelligence. I wouldn't be doing this unless I had The willingness to do it though and I do think they are cool but deffinately exploited in the pet trade. Maybe if the cost 1000$ people would treat them and talk about them better. lol
