i used to have one his name was Tripod.i had him for like 5 years. anyways the scales could have fell off due to a fight with another lizard, or like w ound. other then that i dont know ... sorry i couldnt help more.

Have him checked for mites and other possible irritations just for safe measure. Mites are somewhat like scabes. (Scay- Bees) they get under the skin and cause itching and irritations and are harder than hadies to get rid of with out benedril- only difference is that mites get under the scales. When your reptile scratches repetively, they have a tendency to scratch away their scales when trying to scratch away the annoying itch. It could also be something its allergic to or possibly from being in constant contact with untreated water if its been bathed commonly. Chlorine will do that too. It dries them out severely. those are the only things I could think of that would cause your sweet baby to lose scales like that.
