First of all the tanks looks AWESOME ! But what will you keep in it ? Because I don't see any bulb sockets or anything like that.

The viv is heated by a 250 watt ceramic heater, screened off behind a stainless steel mesh screen, connected to a dimmer stat. Is being used for Chondros. This photo was taken at beginning stages of construction.

That is one wicked cage there. I have noticed that you are VERY talented with the cage making. I just got into the whole reptile thing, but I've been working with building things since I was a little kid. Is there any way to get some hints or maybe even instructions on building something like this? I'd really appreciate it, maybe even pay for it if it's enough info to get one of these off the ground.

Let me know.

First of all you need to establish the reqirements of the animal concerned and then you can build your viv around that. Materials, size, design, heating, lighting, ventilation, etc would all depend upon the preposed occupant. If you have specific queries ,I am very happy to help.

I found this pic again after a long time and I just had to take another look. I'm getting a larger room this spring and I'm going to make a wooden enclosure for a Tokay Gecko and I was wondering if you treated the wood inside the enclosure with anything to water-proof it ?

Beautiful cage. Is your 250 watt heater heating from below or from the top?

I use Blackfriars P99 gloss varnish, to seal the wood. I have been told it is non toxic for the animals once dry. 3 coats would be sufficient.

The ceramic trough heater is housed in the roof of the viv,in front of the halogen downlighters (partitioned off). I keep chondros which have heat pits around their mouths, they would be confused by a heat source underneath them.
