hatchling desert kingsnake??

Keywords: kingsnake black cream red-dots

This hatchling was found near Apple Valley, CA. It's obviously not a Cal king. It looks somewhat like a desert king except that it's peppered with tiny red dots that are not mites. Can anyone ID it?
