Well his diet is made up about 70% fish and 30% chicken legs. Up until last year he was as tame as a kitten. When i built his new home it was harder getting him out so i went for months without handling him. About five months ago i grabed him by the tail and was pulling him to me to get my other hand under him, when doing this he made him self very clear he didn't want to be handled. So now i leave him be. At the end of this month it will be 6 years when i bought him, and not once did he ever try to bit me. Thanks Rick

With two aniamls together they have to share food and space, and or your caiman could be a female. Your aniamls look great. Congratulations and good luck.

this is a pretty cool spectacled caiman.now i have one thing to ask,im seriously thinking about getting one for real, and i need to ask:what all kinds of food can they eat?fish and chickenand rodents i know of and i know in the wild they do eat anything, but i dont wanna feed it something that would hurt it or make it sick.what should i NOT feed it(i.e frogs, pork, ,etc...)and what is the best thing to feed it.what size cage should it start out in and how fast do they grow?nice pic again

Thanks, before you make up your mind on buying a caiman make sure you covered all your bases. This is an animal that is costly to have and has a long live spand.
Good luck
