This is my pretty girl whose life was cruelly ended 12/5/02. Although we had only two years with her she will live in our hearts forever. Sleep well Bird.
Oohhh, what happened to this little sweetheart? I'm so sorry for your loss. It seems that no matter how short or long their stay with us is....it is never enough. My heart goes out to you. Rest assured that Ladybird is waiting for you at the bridge.

Sorry for the incorrect date of Ladybirds death...it was actually 12/02 not 05, I guess I just didnt notice the typo. Ladybird died as a result of being kicked in the chest by an exchange student staying in our home. In addition to killing her he poured boiling water on our Rat Terrier, Sir Galahad, causing 3rd degree burns to his back (he did this to Bird as well) and another kick broke the leg of our toy poodle, Scruffles. We are all in shock here still. Many thanks for your kindness

How appalling! Here you are gracious enough to open your home to this individual and they attack your pets. Being they are an exchange student, are you able to prosecute for animal cruelty? I will keep you in my prayers...stay strong for Sir Galahad, Scruffles and the memory of Ladybird.

Good Lord! What a cruel person. It must have some kind of mental problem to do such things to an animal. I am afraid I would have beat them silly.

"Bird" is beautiful. OMG what a horrid thing to do! I certainly home you are rid of this person and if not prosecuted has been returned to his/her own country.

I'm so sorry to hear it, she was beautiful. I too lost a spaniel, to cruelty, so I totally understand. My condolences to you, and the rest of your animals. People like that are inhuman, I sincerely don't understand that kind of cruel behavior. I hope the karma boomerang nails him in the back of the head.

Thank all of you for your words of comfort. All or our other animals are doing well and fully recovered in a physical sense although Scruffles the Poodle and Galahad the Terrier Mix are still very fearful around boys. As for me, I still get teary eyed whenever I go past Birds grave on the riverbank behind the house. Thanks again.
