Pretty damn stupid and foolish. Irresponsible ownership gives the hobby a bad name.

I could care less if someone has a deathwish. It's the hobby that will suffer when the press trumpets yet another idiot being done-in by his/her own snake. Please think twice before posting a pic of someone who's a leading candidate for the Darwin awards. ...and yes, "Junior" posing with a cobra could already be a "winner." Pathetic what kids do when they're incapable of finding a girlfriend.

someones a bit immature arent they? personally i dont think you should care what he does with his snakes. perhaps it is a long term pet and is now 100% person friendly. and who are you to judge people?

br does have a point. You shouldn't judge him because of how comfortable he is with a deadly snake. Yes, I agree it is highly dangerous, and should rarely be attempted, but there are those rare and few dangerous snakes that will indeed become ball python tame. There is always the chance for it being a venomoid as well. I do not recommend it, and by no means am I trying to encourage or endorse it, but you shouldn't be so quick to judge, and judge so harshly!

hmm i understand what everyone is saying here. you all have very good points. but i feel that no matter how comterable you are with a animal like this you still have to remember it is a wild animal and can be frightend easily. i just don't wanna see someone die over the thing they love most. it would be a shame in my opinion. but people will do what they want to do and everyone is gonna have thier own opinion. well just thought i would add mine in.

I think that showing something such as this is promoteing something that should not be promoted. I do like the artwork!! As far as the whole venomoid thing it angers me to much to speak of it! I am not being rude or anything but I think we all owe it to ourselves to be responsible and help preserve this hobby. I like my rights and vemous keeping. Poor decisions can take those things away.
You have to know that putting up a photo such as this is bound to open yourself up to some negative comments.
JMHO!!

Who cares its their own mistake if they get bit. its just someone trying to be cool showing off. Its just like doing that and your friends think your cool but if you get bit they just tell you what kind of an idiot you are. So o well their mistake if they are bittten.

I really don't understand why anyone would choose the highly venomous coral snake as a pet. If you like the patterns this snake has, why not get one of the milk or king snakes that looks almost the same as this one. As far as "showing off" with venomous herps goes, why not just choose an aggressive python of some sort and have it bite you? most people are ignorant enough to assume all snakes are poisonous and are therefore easily impressed.

No snake is poisonous they are all venomous.

hehe. rjhjthomps you sound like me when i am talking to my family and they make the mistake of calling a snake poisonous. anyways there is no such thing as a snake that is 100% people freindly. all snakes have the ability to bite. even a snake that has never bitten anyone. still has the capability to bite. wich is why you should always be caution with a venomous snake. it is better to just be carful than to end up in the hospitial.

okay so I"m from Canada with a public health system so if some dick chooses to risk a venomous bite then we all pay for it. In the states it's the same except the costs are seen in rising insurance costs. Sure it's your choice to hold your snake just as in many states/provinces it's your choice to choose that snake to be a hot; but please take it seriously and choose life or death. I (we?) don't want to pay for you.
ps nice snake.. i've seen better snake tattoos though
