No, no! Those are stripe knees, Aphonopelma seemani. Very common as WC's in the pet trade but rare as cb spiderlings

That baldness is stress related ! They will rub their legs across the abdomen to throw urticating hairs in the air when disturbed or under stress.
The bald one also appears not to be a Stripeknee but a Haitian Brown (Phormictopus Cancerides) see my pics of same on this site. Looks like a male before final molt (judging by your other pic of it in glass dish)
Keeping two Tarantulas in one small cage is very risky ! It's only a matter of time before you only have one left !

Uh, sorry but you are wrong, that is a very mature male Aphonopelma seemani. The reason they are in the same enclosure is because I was attempting to reproduce them. Duh!

Of course you were breeding them, why else would they be in the same enclosure ? Please accept my apologies (Doh!)

I'm still not entirely convinced of your identification though. Having looked through your photo gallery, it appears that you have much more experience than me in this field and I will accept your identification on that basis.

Have you seen pictures of the Haitian Brown Phormictopus Cancerides? They are identical to your male, in fact your male looks more like the Haitian Brown than a Stripeknee. I will try to post some better pictures today for comparison.

Yes, I am certain the male is A. seemani. Also, if you look at the other picture of him in the cup that you referred to, you can clearly see hooks on the front two legs and bulbous palps, meaning he is a mature male. When A. seemani males molt into maturity, they look totally different than when they are immature. Do some searches on "Aphonopelma seemani mature male" and you will see lots of pictures that look just like the male in my picture. Which BTW, was sent to me on breeding loan from another experienced hobbiest and his abdomen was bald from the day I got him, that other picture of him in the cup was taken like 5 minutes after I unpacked him!

I have no problem with constructive criticism, when it IS constructive :-)
No hard feelings, good luck with all your critters..
