I hope so, Life with out this little guy was not worth living for a long time, its 3 years feb 28th, and it gets harder every year. We all still think we here him, or see him out hunting. for a long time none of us would speak his name afraid to relive that hard hard day....... this really is the first time I have really talked about it my self. He got his name cause we adopted him 7 years ago from a place that was going to put him down. He was for my 16th birthday. though I wanted a puppy one look at him and thats all I needed. he was a runner and born to hunt. would do anything to go hunting. He went to FL with us on vacation, we went every where with us, he loved going down to the dairy farm to play, till that last winter we allways had to have him hiched unless in the house, cause he would run off. He always came back but it was hard not to have him there every night. he would take to the woods for days before comming home, but as always he would come back to me. that last winter I said no more chaining him, let him run, he dont like winter. I never should have said it. he was good, only would go out make a round looking for habbits and come home to the house. but that last morning feb 28th, he came home after getting atacked my coy-dogs. Lucky he came home, but it hurt to see him so bad off.Dad drove truck then an was there that morning telling me he was fine "he's a fighter, always has been, he is fine" we was not, died that night with me right there. dad called he took it as bad as I did said "no more dogs" after "luke the drifter" drifted in to our hearts and out of our lifes it was to hard to deal with. just to hard. He was our world our life sorce of air and reason for living. its been 3 years this feb. and we now have Jezz though she is no luke, she is not a drifter and lord dont take this one from us!!!!!!!
