Thank you for sharing the juvenile photo. I just got a neonate myself. This was a neonate that was captively Born. The vendor sold it to me for $10.
I find that when I place cold food into his cage, he does not eat it. However, if I warm up the pinky with my body heat, the neonate strikes it right away and his feeding response is triggered and will eat.

BMX: Yes>> I very much was at the Hamburg Show. It was so great. The vendor from whom I bought the neonate is named Wayne. He was very honest. He told me that the neonate ate on pinkies even before its first shed.
When I wnet home and warmed up a pinky, the neonate ate it!
