Keywords: leimadophis liophis Argentine Argentina ground

Purchased as a green and black ground snake (Liophis poecilogyras), but have seen what I think is the same species listed in a book as (Leimadophis poecilogyras). I have heard that species have been switched between these two genus lately. Anyone have a thought on what this is?

I live in Porto Alegre (South Brazil) and i found an identical snake near my work. It's a female, 44cm lenght and very docile (never tried to bite). This species need a semi-aquatic tank and will eat fish and toads.
