do you keep your hamster alone? i have a hamster of the same breed, and desperately want to get a playmate because at times "cola" gets quite bored, and it would be nice for her to have a friend

Yes, pretty much all hamsters fight. They are very territoral animals and dwarf's especially. I've raised hamsters for some time, even dwarf hamsters...and all of mine seemed to want to be left alone. Also some of my friends hamsters have wanted to be left alone also.
