The scorpion pictured is native to South Africa. This one in particular was born in the US, but I owned his mom too and she was imported from S. Africa. There are many places to buy them in the US.

This species can be found at a price range of $20 (if you're really lucky like me) up to a little over $50. I have never seen this species spray venom but it is said to appear similar to a paint can being sprayed when it occurs (aerosol spray cans are the direct reference).

Well, individual count, I have only a guess, but the for last year, the crickets for food use in two weeks time weighed in at over a pound, to give you some kind of guestimate. As far as individuals, I'd have to say I'm nearing 300. Species, I'd have to guess again and say I'm nearing 50. I've got an accurate count around here somewhere of species, but none current on individual count of each species (I only have estimations of that, due to new births, etc.).

Wow! I only have 4 species and all are local (Israel). Do you have Isometrus maculatus? That's my favorite species.

I. maculatus is a rare species to come across in the trade and even moreso in the US. From what I gather, the countries they are native to (other than the rarity of having been at one time located in Fla, USA), do not export for the hobby. You can contact me at ed_9172002@yahoo.com if you'd like to continue this conversation. Would probably be better than replying to a pic so many times in order to speak.
