What breed is the yellow dog? S/he is beautiful. I thought s/he was a lab but looks to maybe have Chessie fur.

Hi Melody, its Charlene, PHRiot here. You are correct, he is Carson my 4 1/2 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever! They call the "yellow" color "Deadgrass!" LOL!

Carson is very cute. I lost my 12 year old Chessie Bay on 4/14/03 after 6 days of being very ill. He was my first Chessie but, will not be my last. I have never seen a yellow Chessie. Do a lot of people misidentify his breed? Our neighbor's have a longhaired Mastiff that I often cared for & only one person recognized his breed. Anyway, Carson is a beautiful dog. :)

Yes, people mistake his breed all the time. . .its pretty funny really. Believe it or not, he is a huge couch potato! LOL!

So was my Chessie Bay! He loved to swim & etc but, was not a hyper dog. I hope to get another Chessie soon. However, I may wait a few years. I would like to get one from rescue but, there are not many in rescue.
