Congrats on the big move from mice to rats. Sometimes that can be a hard transition. How did it go?

It couldnt have gone any better. Total feeding time was about 10-15 minutes. I was so happy. The snake is about 4 feet long.

In the 5 years I have had this snake I have never fed him is his main cage. Its much cleaner this way.

It is much cleaner, but if you do feed in the living tank, be careful. Sometimes snakes will become accusomed to being fed in there and will associate the tank opening with food. If you go in to pick him up or whatever without feeding him, he could give you a pretty nasty bite.

I misunderstood your post, I thought that you meant you fed your Ball in his living tank. My bad. I am sure you knew all that I posted already.

He wouldnt go for the prekilled this time. I had to hold the rat by the tail and shake it in front of him. (Used a BBQ tool haha.) After he ate the one i tried the other. No luck, No matter what i did he wanted nothing to do with it. When i put him back in his cage he drank a ton of water. I guess ill keep it at 1 rat every two weeks for the next few months. LETS GO DEVILS !

Your BP seems really active. Mine is about 2 ft but really stays put except at night. What time do you take your pics? Still on mice and only about 1/week. When did you decide to make the switch?

I take most of the pics at night. Hes funny, sometimes he wont move at all for weeks then other times hes active day and night..I made the switch from mice->rats on 5-13-03. Only because the people on here told me to. Haha. They were right..He loves the rats..Where on LI do you live?

Yeah good job in fact I just got my frozen rats in yesterday and I never have fed rats to my ball pythons before one is more then a year old and the other is more then 2 years old and I tried the rats and they both took them like they were nothing I was sooo happy and after that (they were weaned rats and my snakes are alitte small for their age) they wanted more so I gave them another it was a good day for feeding so now I'm totally off the mice and on to rats. :)

I knew you all would. Watch your kids grow now. Amazing. They will start the 3 weeks shed cycle again. You would not believe the growth the exhibit. Amazing.
