That's amazing! It looks like an intergrade with a massassauga. If that's even possible. Which I guess it is. Anyone seen the pic of the timber intergrade?

Not sure what it's mixed with, if anything, but that is definitely not a normal copperhead. I've seen lots of copperheads here in NC, and not a single one has even come close to resembling that. Would be very interested to know if your friend is planning on breeding that snake.

The last I heard, the owner was trying to sell it. I inquired about it and he told me he had offers of $2,000+ That was a few months ago. Not sure what it's status is right now. If I had $2,000, I would have loved to have it. Awesome isn't it?

Wow. Haven't seen this snake, or commented about it, for a while. I'm also KottonmouthKing and HomesickAggie, haha. Would still love to have it. Wonder where it is now? Freakin incredible copperhead.

MY OPINION COPPERHEAD/CAROLINA PIGMY RATTLER. i'm in guilford county NC, we dont have massasaugs here in NC, we do have carolina oigmy rattlers though. i have seen my share of copperheads but nothing had anything but the usual hourglass bands variation. it is a beautiful pattern. if it was truely wild caught then there is a population of wild copperheads with this recessive traits
