I have a few questions about a wooden enclosure that I got off someone near my place today. It's 4ft 3in. in length, 18 inches deep and about 15-16 inches in height. I cleaned it up, took a damp cloth and wiped the outside down, vacuumed the inside (there was sand in there). On the top left side, there's a hole and on the right hand side, there's a rectangular meshed hole. It has two doors that open upward, in the front of the tank. This is all made of wood and mesh...cheap mesh. The whole enclosure though isn't heavy in weight.

These are my questions:

Can I house my adult spotted python and the sub-adult ball python in the same enclosure? What about when the ball python gets big? Except for when feeding them, would it be safe to house them both in one big enclosure?

How do I go about disinfecting this enclosure before I use it? Is an all-glass enclosure a better bet to house snakes in?

What are my heating options? I plan to use indoor-outdoor carpet as substrate. I was thinking of attaching two heating pads underneath the left side, coupled with a 150 Watt heat emitter that I already have. Since it is a big enclosure, I was thinking this would be more than sufficient.

HEY :) M/

Can I house my adult spotted python and the sub-adult ball python in the same enclosure? I think that if, you can have any type of serpent with another one in the same pool, single that you must consider the size of each serpent and the species, I do not recommend to you that if you got yourself to buy one kingsnake you maintained it together with another serpent of another species, since kingsnake entails other cares but in which, you can maintain two constrictors of different species together single as I said to you previously, you must consider the size of each one...

What about when the ball python gets big?then while the serpent is growing is important the space in which it can stretch all her body completely, for better comfort ...

Except for when feeding them, would it be safe to house them both in one big enclosure?yes ...

How do I go about disinfecting this enclosure before I use it?I preferably, it would wash it with a antibacterial soap and soon I rinse it well so that it is not left reciduos of the soap, since the serpents and all animal tend to have respiratory problems by some ingredients...

Is an all-glass enclosure a better bet to house snakes in? I consider that there is but security so that a serpent cannot be escaped, and is well important the air ventilation...

What are my heating options? you can consult on the lamps and the patches of heat, you can obtain them in pet shop ...

I plan to use indoor-outdoor carpet as substrate.my recommendation is that you have well-taken care of what him yet fences to put within the pool, since several options to decorate the floor bring toxic chemistries, and are well harmful for your serpent since those toxics affect the respiratory system to him and the damages that can cause to the serpent can be serious and harmful... my recommendation is that you use paper of periodic for the ground since does not affect the serpent to him and also it is easy to clean and it is cheap ...

I was thinking of attaching two heating pads underneath the left side, coupled with a 150 Watt heat emitter that I already have. my recommendation is that you put a single pad of heating in a single side, so that therefore it must to choose between a hot place and cold, so that thus she has comfort, and heat emitter is necessary if you live in a state that makes cold, I use only the heat emitter because alive in Puerto Rico and because the climate always is equal here almost never changes...

***
it always remembers to have it in observation and if it eats in the same pool in which wash always lives or after it finishes eating so that thus it does not gather bacteria of the prey or the place from where the prey comes, whenever it is going to eat observes the mouth of the prey and if the head is frees manténla remote of the body of the snake so that it cannot bite it, many of the bites can do damage to the snakes...

***you do not overfeed the snake, that eats sufficient and during two weeks it observes so that you see if him under the belly and I defecate and then soon it returns to give him eaten, on food of the snakes puts them obese, ball phyton of nature already provides a wide body and because he is preferable to give him moderately eaten...

^^I hope that it serves as much my answers for better care and satisfaction to you
