150 Gallon Rubbermaid

This is a schematic for a 150 gallon Rubbermaid tank. It turned out really well. I plan on upgrading to a 300 gallon when my dwarf gets bigger in a couple of years.

So how are you going to seperate the water from the gravel... Pond liner?

Yep. That black outline is a 50 gallon pond liner. It works great because it has a deep section and a shallow shelf to the left in the illustration. It fits perfectly in the stock tank.

So the pond liner a preformed pond liner? Where did you get the stock tank and pond liner?
Thanks, Chris D.

The pond liner came from Lowes for $40 and the stock tank came from Southern States for $120.

Hi Jerry,

Can you post a pic of the actual pond? This is the best artificial pond I think I have ever seen. also, what did you use to make that excellent schematic?

Thanks!!

Chris ,I think the black line is a small pre-formed pond like at Home Deopt. (plug) Just to screw around I fit them together to test my theory, and it looks right but you would have to put a but load or gravel in there. I'm going to try to cut out some ply wood to do the same thing for my Spotted turts( I knew what you were thinking!) Rock on, and great idea, Blue

Jerry,

That's a great setup; how do you keep the caiman *in* it (rather than climbing out)?

I have two 1/2" plexi-glass doors that are hinded to swing open. I keep a 8lb dive weight on each door to prevent the little gal from pushing the doors open.
