in NC we always associate nests of that style w/ hornets, but i could be wrong...

It could be either a wasps or a hornets nest, but to me it looks more like a wasps nest. A hornets nest is pear shaped and has a large entrance hole at the bottom of the nest. Are wasps nests made the same way as a hornets nest? I know they're both made out of grey "paper", excluding the mud daubers nests. I have one of those in my garage, lol.
