What is the temperment of your black rat. I have one,he has never bitten me,but is very quick and "fiesty". how often do you handle, and how big.
Thanks

Well I just got her a week ago, and I've handled her three times... once at the store I got her from. She is flighty when I first pick her up but she calms down after 30 seconds of gentle handling. But she's still nervous and not used to being handled. I'm going to start handling her for short periods of time every other day or so and she should calm down with time.

I have 2 WC black rats the male is 3'9 and the females 5'4 and they were both very aggressive when first caught but after 2 nights of gentle handling they didn't try to bite me anymore and are eating well and in about a year or so I am planning on breeding them.

Yeah try holding him for 10 minutes a day, except after he eats, and watch what happens.
