A common mistake, but not to be taken lightly. Mixing South American Cichlids and African Cichlids is a very bad idea...

I agree not a good idea to mix the two together another thing is you should have many more caves in this tank, I cant see your fish be happy without them especially cichlids.

Way way way too bare! Nice size tank though.....I wish I had a 150.

Many people have kept African cichlids with their South Americancousins. It all dependson what types of cichlids you are keeping, the size of the tank, number of hiding places and the actually number.
