Yes, it is a Centruroides Gracilis(Central American Barck Scorpion), but the question is where did you get this or find this, if it is from Florida it is an import of the central americans, that are less potent. If for sure it is a central american then it is very potent and be very careful with them.....I have a colony of these and love them, they are very active!!

The subaculear tooth (spine) is not the key ID of the Centruroides genus. Most do not have it. While it is most likely that it is a Centruroides gracilis, it could also be of the Tityus genus on a mistaken import, and so forth. True ID would have to be done on the specimen in order to actually ID it. It is impossible to do so from this pic. It is a good, defining pic of the subaculear spine and I give the pic a 5/5 rating on quality.
