what kind of turtle does this egg belong to? is it one you bred? can turtles have twins like this or will they eventually die before hatching due to limited resources and space? wonderful pic, btw

This is a European Pond Turtle egg. I don't know if it can hatch or not, some people have had success. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that this egg is dead now. Oh well, there will be more, as I believe they lay again in Aug-Sept. I have 6 females and four males.
