Love the cage set up, Candice!! Very nice, and your burm looks great too. Have you had any problems with your melamine? Every one I know has gotten frustrated with warping and water logging.

Lizard,

I haven't had any problems with it thus far. My husband painted the inside with some kind of waterproof paint so we haven't had to worry about water.

Thanks for the compliment. The guy at Lowes obviously couldn't read a tape measure (they cut the sheets for us) so the doors aren't level but it serves its purpose, I guess. My husband cut the holes for the plexiglass inside the house on my kitchen table!!! YIKES! I thought I would never get the saw dust out of the apartment! LOL.

The only complaint I have is that it is so heavy. We will have to take it apart when we move.

The paint is a basic outside vinyl paint (I think that's what he said) and we use two heat lamps. One is a 150 watt dayglow that we use during the day and the other is a 150 watt infared heat lamp for night. Because of the summer months, we recently switched the night lamp to a light that simulates the moon's glow and doesn't produce as much heat.

The heat lamps are inside the cage on top of a mesh screen where she can't touch it. We didn't like the way it looked to have the lights sitting on top of the actual cage so he built a separate compartment inside. The lid has hinges for easy access.
