Beautiful picture! Is this your frog, or one you came across? I'm assuming you live in Australia based on your photos. I would love to eventually get some of these.

I love the quality of this photo. Did you use a digital cam? Is this species related to the South American species?

they are distantly related. they are from different genus, aussie red eye is from "litoria" while the american red eye is from "agalycnis". the only relation is that they are bot from the tree frog family (hylidae)

Hi Jurrasic Junior,
no this is not closely related to the Sth American species. They are quite different in that they are of a different species although alike in that they are a tree frog. However theydo look alike. The closest thing to a sth American red eye tree frog in Australia would be this one. I personally prefer the Sth American as their colours are just brilliant. I did use a digital camera for this picture.
