I have never kept snakes but I have a couple of friends that do and I love them.
I never understood how they could be kept in small rubbermaid totes or in other places thin metal pans.
From the snakes I see they are in large 125 gallon fish tanks and though they dont move alot, they do move and in the wild they move so I guess isnt it cruel to keep them in thin containers like that?
Just curious.

If you look at it that way, keeping pets period is inhumane... unless it's with conserving them... ah I don't know lol. My friend keeps a ball python in a big sweater box with newspaper, it's still living after since he was 4. He's 15 now. A natural snake habitat would be way bigger than 125 gallons anyway, depending on the snake. Humans probably make up for it by feeding them on a regular basis and protecting them from predators, in a way, unless the owner is careless with the pet.
