I know you've probably answered this a million times, but how did you make the faux rock background? Thanks!

Very nice! What are you using for substrate for the Leos? How long have they been on it and have you had any probs with it? Thanks,
Chris D.

You are right, I have answered it a million times (or at least several times).
This is what I wrote another that asked the same question (description to my largest cage):
Whole the cage is custom made. Made of 1 cm chipboard. It is very heavy. With everything incl. sand, rocks etc. I estimate it to a weight near by 100 kg. (160 cm wide and 70 cm high and deep).
All the inside of the tank is covered with expanded polystyrene sheets and the rocks are also build of expanded polystyrene sheets glued together. The surface of the expanded polystyrene must be scratched so a layer of mortar can stick to it.
After that I mixed some mortar (cement and gravel) with some special color. That was blended with water to a soft clay-like material. The expanded polystyrene was coated with the mortar (hard work - took around 30 hours - gave it all 3 times - has to harden about a day in between).
The caves were made the same way, before the cage, and then put in the cage and poured together with the rest of the cage. Make sure to make the caves in a size so that you can get a hand in there.
I hope that this can make the process a little clearer for those of you who want to experiment. It is a long and hard process, but I think it has been worth the effort.

Substrate is rough sand with grains between 0.5 and 1.5 millimeter (sold in pet stores as bird sand). I have had all my reptiles on this sand for the last 6 months without any problems.

I figured you had been asked that question before. Thank you VERY much for repeating the answer once again. :)

Sorry...just thought of one more question. How did you mount the "rock" to the back and sides of the cage? (Or are your "rocks" the back and side walls of the cage?)

Have you seen your Leos eat any or have you seen any in their stool? I have looked for a "safer" loose substrate for my leos forever. Thanks again...

GSD_Gal: The rocks are the back and sides of the cage.
Chrysemys: I haven't seen the leos eat the substrate, but I oftes see some of it in their stool.

So those walls are strong enough to support the weight another heavy cage on top of it? I'm wanting to do a similar thing, but the top cage would be all wood.

Awesome looking setups...is that a humid hide in the Leos' cage on the right side? Or just a cave? If it is a humid hide, what is it made of..same cement mix you used for the background?
Thanks!

It is a humid hide. And it is made the same way as the background.

Sliding doors are ordinary 4 mm. glass. I think glass for one cage cost around 15 USD.
