Anacondas and little kids!!! WOOOO my favorite pictures in the whole world. There should be some kinda rule about that.....common sense doesn't work anymore!

i think it's good that someone as young as that is being introduced to snakes. now he won't fear them when he's older. the kids obviously not scared of it. enjoi.

a dog is not comparable to a conda, thats the weakest argument i ever heard. get some COMMON SENSE

Dogs have killed people. Snakes have killed people. I think that as long as the kid is exposed to the snake in a controlled, supervised, protected environment, it is beneficial to create an interest and respect for the animal. Too many people are raised with the same fear of snakes that their parents had.

By the way, my opinion about this would change as the snake reaches its potential length of 25ft+.

You can train a dog to kill or not. Can you train a snake?

I agree with khorner points. Great pic, nice to see the child is being introduced young.

While the itro to herps IS a good thing, I just hope the family of this boy understands the depth of this commitment

i agree with foxpamela that you cant train a snake, but you can train a dog to kill or not. But dogs are also very very unpredictable. If a snake was to attack this child, the child wouldnt lose a leg or a limb and there would be some time to get the snake off him, whereas a dog has dangerous canines and if a child were to be attacked, there wouldnt be much of a chance to help him unless u have all these gloves and gear handy at all times. Also, i dont think anyone is really stupid enough to let a youngster handle a 25' conda. Oh and btw, dogs kill more people yearly than snakes do. Its a fact.

Thanks,
Ben

It's really funny to read your guy's posts, what the hell is the matter with you guys! First off you don't know this snake it could be tame as kitten...I've seen it before! Besides that, under supervision there is no reason what so ever this little guy can't handle that snake! And unless that picture took itself I'd say he's supervised...further more there is no no such thing as cannot be tamed I've had snapping turtles sit in my lap, tokay geckos that eat from my fingertips and anacondas that that are perfectly happy hanging out with me watching TV! So to who ever took that pic. I say keep up the good work! Fine looking snake, and it's never to early to introduce the wonders of the natural world to the kids these days!

im with guru there is not one problem with a little kid owning reptiles such as that. Im 13 and ive got a ball python, bearded dragon, bermese, 2 leopard geckos, and a spiny lizzard. so for some retard to say that its a hazzard to let a kid hold a big snake they can go %#&* themselves. good luck with that buetiful snake by the way.

I have a 3yr old son who loves to handle my snakes. Although the snakes are small right now I will continue to let my son handle them even as they grow to adult size. Of coarse Im right there surpervising, making sure the snake doesnt hurt the kid or vice versa.

I think this is a great pic!!! As pointed out earlier this kid is obviouisly being supervised and a snake this size is not going to be able to take the child out in a matter of minutes. Now on the other hand if this were a 25 foot anaconda as a rule one adult should not try to handle it. If this child is going to be around huge reptiles, as it looks like will happen, then the proper respect and care need to be taught. What better way to teach the strength and speed of a snake when it is still at a managable size so that when it is large the child will be able to grasp how much stonger it will be.
