this is a dragonfly my brother found one day. the thing couldn't fly, so i made it a home and put it in the flower beds. i would check on him everyday (i know, i know. kind of odd to do this sort for a bug) and one day he was gone. i hope he flew away and didn't get taken away by a bird!!
This is an adult Green Darner, one of the largest and swiftest Dragonflies in North America. The nymphs, which are aquatic, are capable of catching small tadpoles and fish for food.
