This guy is like 4 or 5 years old.. I wish he was fatter and i wish his head was bigger.. I think i waited to long to start him on rats.. Now i feed him 1 large rat every 2 weeks..

My ball has turned down his food the past few times i tried. Its been 4 weeks since he ate. This never happend before...? I have successfully been feeding him 1 large pre-killed white rat every 2 weeks since 5/03..

Mine hasn't eaten in a month also. My Rainbow boa also hasn't shown much interest in eating since about early Oct. Just 1 mouse in 2 months. I think it's just because it's getting cooler and they're naturally going into their cooling time of year. Still active but no interest in food.

I have a question for you guys. My ball is roughly 30 in long. When should I start feeding him rats. Right now he eats one larg mouse a week.

My general rule for feeding is that after it eats, you should see a slight bulge. If you don't, go bigger. The size of the food should be a little bigger than the thickest part of the snake. It's worked for all my snakes and they all seem happy.

I had a ball that once went seven months without feeding, and without much weight loss. Then one day I walked into the snake room and he was in attack-prey mode. He was all over the rat in a nanosecond. I'm sure yours will snap out of his fast when he's ready. Try a live mouse and see what happens. Mine would switch on and off of rats/mice. Frustrating at times.
