Keywords: Large Hobo-lookalike

This big boy was in the middle of the floor at Staples during opening (hubby's the manager). It is the size the lid to my iced mocha. It looks like a hobo but it's underside is dotted rather than solid, so I know it's not. I've never seen one this big! What is it? I'm new to this hobby, so nice to meet you all!

We have these spiders all over our basement, we've removed over 30 of them I believe they are giant house spiders which are close relatives of the hobo spider but not dangerous. Apparently they are natural enemies to the hobo so if you have them they will keep hobo spiders away.

they are first cousins of the hobo and yes will eat them and are totally harmless to people. In the UK there leg span can reach five inches in males.
