They sure can bite. It may sting, but I don't think it will "hurt". Never been bitten, so I don't know. They can grow probably well over 5 or 6 inches in their expected life span. They start off as balls, and grow up into pancakes.

That small amount of moss he is seems to swallow at the picture is probably not a problem at all. Though, they can become impacted when swallowing fairly big amounts of moss. It is possible to decrease the risk of the frog swallowing the substrate by feeding them with tonges.

Cool shot!
I got bitten once by my PacMan frog when I tried to feed him. It didn't really hurt, since they don't really have teeth. I guess just tiny little spikes on their lips. A fast snap on my finger. But after he let go, my finger became so SLIMY. It was the weirdest thing I ever felt on my Finger. :P
