I keep him in a vision cage,6 ft long by 3 ft deep...He eats about 15lbs of rabbits per week but he is a seasonal eater..only eats about about 4 months per year around the summer time then refuses food for the remainder of the year during the breeding season..So when he does eat I usually give him about as much as he can take...He is by far the tamest ,sweetest snake that i have ever owned but because of his size and his power i always treat him with respect..I normally dont hold him like this but i wanted to have a pic with me in it to show his size

Was he easy to tame, and how hard is he to handle at this size

He was very easy to tame as he was tame when i got him....curious but shy...never defensive...got bit once by him as a hatchling but it was a feeding response.I deal with each snake as an individual...I think the thing with raising big snakes thats important is developing good associations,as far as letting him know when it is feeding time and when it is handling or cleaning time...As far as handling i'd say at this size its a lil bit difficult because retics r not like burms in the sense that u can basically drape a big burm on ur shoulders and he'll pretty much sit there...My guy is very curious and when he is out of his cage he'd rather be exploring and checking everything out than sitting on my shoulders for a pic and it took a lil doing to get that pose for a pic...For the most part i dont handle him like this anymore and I: pretty much will put him on the floor and guide him to where i want him to go..He's a decent size but by no means done growing..not even 4 yrs old and he puts on a significant amount of size on every year...although his length def slowed it seems he is still putting on a fair amount of weight

How much dose he weigh and does your friend breed tigers like yours any more and does he have any available at this time?

I guesstimate him at about 70-75lbs..he's definitely bigger now than from this pic which was in july..I never really got him on a scale to get his accurate weight...My friend isnt really doing retics ,,,he had a lucky breeding a few yers back and doesnt keep retics anymore...I had planned to breed him to a tiger female that he had but doesnt own her anymore...If ur interested in a quality retic as a pet or breeder i would strongly recommend Bob Clark,Cindy Baldogo and NERD..They produce great retics and their customer service is impeccable
