Keywords: Shingleback Lizard

The Shingleback Lizard (Trachydosaurus rugosus) is a chunky, robust skink found in much of Southern Australia. It is also known as the Sleepy Lizard, Pine- Cone Lizard and Bob-Tail Lizard. Although their large gaping mouths and blue fleshy tongues looks dangerous, they are a fairly slow moving, placid lizard. They grow to about 14" total length and make good pets. They will eat almost anything remotely resembling food! Please check out the rest of my photos of Australian reptiles and make a comment if you like. Regards, Frilly.
