Female. Captive Raised 1994. Resting position @ opposite end of tank focused on stairwell. Snaps viciously @ any approaching movement. Once I appear @ close range, she calms DOWN!!! Does she recognize ME??? Anyways... the keys to the SNAKECAGES ARE IN A SEALED CONTAINER @ THE BOTTOM OF HER TANK FOR SECURITY REASONS..

Chris. Thankyou 4 that observation. Rage is my 3rd Common Snapper. My first was caught in a small body of water (marsh???) in Elementary School. {It} lived for 5 years. 2nd was purchased for 50 cents @ a nearby Pet Store in 1978 while I was @ the Penn Relays in Philly, Highschool. {It} lived for 16 years. Rage was called a female a few years ago only based on a flat plastron??? pers comm of a neighbor. I had read the same & signed off on it. Now, I will do more research ??? I do not have a closer shot of its tail soooo. Thanks 4 the 411..Keith...
