Lobes...there is no such thing as a Gaboon "Pitviper". Gaboons (Bitis gabonica sp.) are true vipers and lack heat pits, thus are not pitvipers. Sorry for the nitpicking :)

Gaboons do not have pits but what they do have are heat sencing cells in the scales around the lips..... Also, I am not suggesting this unless you have glass between you and the gaboon, but if you look close enough you will see little bumps where the pits would be on a pit viper.....

That green stuff in his finger is dead flesh. That's what cytotoxin does to you. It breaks down your tissue to start the digestive process.

Ewwwwww... looks like gangrene has set in too. My favorite snakes are venomous but this is why I will never own one.
