LOL :D That should be the most plain enclosure that I've ever seen but I kinda like the simplicity. At least it didn't cost you a ton of money to build. Very economic.

...Okay... Your gonna fry your gecko... Holy, this was expected from you, stupidity... Not nice at all. It goes on the top! That's exactly like placing your gecko's tank in front of a window to fry slowly... Honestly, I pity your gecko. If he's not dead already, get a real light. Also, he needs alot more moisture then his habitat is throwing off. PLEASE do your gecko a favour and research!?! Your other reptile's cages look half decent.. what happened here??

I don't think that the gecko is going to fry. The cage isn't being heated in the safest way or the most practical but as long as the light bulb isn't producing too much heat the gecko won't be harmed. If there were 2 giant 150 watt light bulbs aimed at both sides of the enclosure then you would run into problems but from the picture posted it looks like the gecko can thermoregulate its body temperature safely. It would make more sense to place a light bulb on top of the cage since in the wild heat comes from above, not from the side, but I doubt that placing a bulb on the side will cause a lot of harm.

well..you might think that woud dfry the gecko but i have researched them etc.. and i have currently had this gecko for 3 years and his former mate for 2 years(she die of unknown cause's) the light like that doesnt seem to bother him at all all it is, is a 100w regular light bulb and yes i keep all my cages fairly simple i liek the look of them like that and easy to clean etc... Hetrick i notice you have alot of frogs i have liek a 5-8 gallon high hexagonal cage that iam thinking of puttin a frog in, what would you suggest. But tebby i live in canada to you said you did to in the other post. Btw tebby thx for the opinion i have a spare light lying around so i put it on top of the cage insead of how it is :)

I have to agree thats not real smart, also goldens need alot of hiding places and you have none.

If the other gecko died of "unknown causes", that should be the first sign that you are doing something wrong husbandry-wise. That cage does not nearly meet the needs of the gecko.
