What's the difference between this guy and Fer-de-lance? i know they are both in the Bothrops family, but I'm always confused about which is Asper & which is Atrox. I've heard they are the same species & just different subspecies. Any ideas?

Fer De Lance is used for asper, at times, but the more accepted common name is Terciopelo. Fer De Lance is normally used to refer to atrox. And, they are both part of Bothrops, but atrox and asper, are different species, not subspecies.
