This is a custom glass tank i built that has simple plants to show that you don't need to get exotic plants to have a nice naturalistic vivarium. it was a false bottom, full running water fall, moss everywhere and has a species of low ground fern, nerve plant, and creeping fig. the wood is redwood and the waterfall was built using bowl rock and my vivarium mortar.

Sure! what animals are you planning it for and what size glass tank do you plan to use?

one thing, you will either need a taller tank to hide the false bottom with a signle unit design or a tank with some holes drilled into the bottom...

hi again, i'm starting out with a 10 gallon and one little anole but when my turtles get a little bigger sticky feet (the anole) will inheret their 30 gallon tank. so far all i have ordered is the pump. but i definatly need some pointers on how to build this thing without sacrificing a lot of tank space. I saw this river tank kit on my last cricket run and it looked kind of cool, but i don't think that will leave me a lot of room for plants and branches. and i definatly want that in the tank. (he/she???? loves to climb around)the 10 is my trial and error tank this is my first non-aquatic set up and once i get get it right my turts are moving into a 72 gallon and that will free up my 30 gallon for my lizard. I read the instructions on your site for setting up a false bottom, and i'm wondering if you need a pool at the base of a waterfall or will the water just drain through the botom. that is probably a dumb question, but i tried a waterfall with a pool in a frog tank once and all i ended up with was drowned crickets. also could you suggest any humitity loving plants for me. i don't know much about plants (all my house plants are plastic) and i don't want to put anything in their that will die on me or hurt my lizard, so i'm open for suggestions and i'll appreciate any advice you have for me.
