I lost Zatarain on Aug 20th 2004, She lost her battle with kidney failure at the age of 7 years 8 months. She was such a wonderful beardie. I never worried about her biting my kids, she was always willing to be hugged and kissed. She loved her wagon rides with my oldest son and basking outside on my leg. She is very much missed by the whole family.
We have a female German Giant. She's 9 years old and has terrible arthritis in her front legs. They have the sweetest personalities and become one of the family.
Kidney failure is fairly common in Dragons, especially as they get older and less active. I read that, in the wild, their life expectancy is around 4 years, so she had a very good, long life surrounded by love. She couldn't have wanted for more.
